Walking, a simple yet effective exercise

walkingDid you know that walking is the simplest yet most effective way to add up to your daily physical activity? Walking reduces health risks and has various overall health benefits. Here are some tips to force yourself to walk:

  1. Park your car about twenty meters further away from your usual parking spot.
  2. Ignore escalators and elevators. Take the stairs instead.
  3. Forget the car. Walk to your neighborhood grocery or market.
  4. If commuting, drop yourself off 5 blocks away from your usual drop-off point.
  5. Walk in the park, if there’s one nearby. After work walk to de-stress.
  6. Use your office building’s stairs for four to five storeys.
