Frequently Asked Questions on 30 Day Challenge

  1. What is the Charantia 30-Day Challenge? Charantia 30-Day Challenge is a healthy lifestyle campaign sponsored by Charantia. The aim of this program is to promote to diabetics the importance of having a healthy lifestyle as the foundation of managing diabetes. It does this by giving participants a sample one-month meal plan formulated by dietitians and a one-month exercise routine. You can download both programs here. Likewise, as part of healthy diet, we encourage diabetics to drink Charantia tea every after meal instead of coffee or other sugary drinks. This way, they get Ampalaya’s blood sugar-lowering benefit at a time when their blood sugar is sure to rise, that is, shortly after eating.
  2. How can a healthy lifestyle be the foundation of managing diabetes? No less than the World Health Organization says that by eating healthy and exercising regularly you are building your first defense against diabetes if you have not been afflicted yet but at risk of the disease; or complications if you are already suffering from diabetes. Remember that diabetes is all about keeping your blood sugar levels near normal levels. By eating healthy foods (high in fiber, less in fat) you control the influx of blood sugar in your body; on the other hand, by adopting a regular exercise program, you can burn more blood sugar and avoid excessive levels of it in your body.
  3. Where is Charantia 30-Day Challenge held? Charantia 30-Day Challenge is planned to be conducted in as many companies and organization where there are many diabetics. However, only companies in Metro Manila are selected to date. But you can perform your own Charantia 30-Day Challenge at home or wherever. Just follow these steps.
  4. How is Charantia 30-Day Challenge conducted? First, we select a company with a large population of diabetics. By coordinating with the company doctor or healthcare professional, we register all qualified diabetics. Second, we schedule a launching date as our Day 1. On this day, we conduct lectures on diabetes and nutrition and demonstrate a sample exercise routine. We also conduct FBS, bp, BMI tests and give them an individual meal plan formulated by a dietitian. We also give them their Charantia 30-Day Challenge health kit consists of the following: a health check diary containing the meal plan, exercise program and log for their weekly blood sugar level, blood pressure and weight records; and one-month supply of Charantia tea. Third, we go back to that company for three successive weeks to conduct FBS and bp to monitor their progress. Fourth, at the end of 30 days, we chart the weekly records so the participants can see their improvement from Day 1 to Day 30. Had they stick to our meal and exercise program (along with drinking Charantia every after meal), they should see an improvement in their blood sugar health.
  5. Is Charantia 30-Day Challenge limited to diabetics in selected companies only? No. Although we conduct our events in selected companies, every one can do their own Charantia 30-Day Challenge at home or wherever. All they need to do is follow these simple steps—
