The makers of Charantia is now exporting Charantia in Kuwait and parts of the Middle East to help curb the high diabetes incidence there.

The Department of Health leads various stakeholders last February 7 in pushing for the full implementation of the Traditional and Alternative Medicine Act of 1997, which calls for the integration of safe and effective traditional medicinal herbs and practices into the country’s health system. This development is another boost to Ampalaya, a traditionally trusted home remedy, which is expected to be reclassified soon back to being a scientifically validated plant for diabetes.
